I am a landscape and seascape painter working en plein air and from my studio in rural Wiltshire, UK. I work in oil and acrylic and am increasingly making large-scale pieces which take inspiration from the power of our natural surroundings. You can see my paintings here.
My work is regularly exhibited in galleries and open exhibitions across the the UK, and is included in private collections in Britain, the States, Australia, and France, including the private collection at Kensington Palace.
I’m also the Director of 100 Moths, an art and conservation project which aims to raise awareness of the importance of moths in the UK.
Finally, I’m a published writer with an academic background in literature and the history of thought and ideas. My journalism, academic articles and book chapters have been published in the UK and abroad. I most enjoy writing about art, literature, thought, and cultural history, and have a particular interest in the cultural history of London during and just after WW2. If you would like me to write for you, please email me.
